1. Check out the Festival of Lights at Watkins Park

This is a fun thing to do with the family. Over the winter, a beautiful holiday light show can be seen in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Just visit Watkins Regional Park. You’ll drive through holiday lights that match the music, which plays through a specific station on your car radio. This drive-through show will be available until January 1, 2023. 2. Visit Silver Spring Outdoor Ice Skating Rink

If you want to enjoy some fun on an outdoor ice skating rink, you can check this one out. You do have to get reservations prior to arrival. 3. Enjoy Enchant Washington, D.C.

If you want to fully immerse yourself in the holiday season, check out this event at Nationals Park (1500 South Capitol Street, SE, Washington D.C.) it runs till January 1. There will be “over 4 million sparkling lights.” They also have a maze you can walk through (and it’s lit up). In addition, you can enjoy ice skating and shop from lots of artisan vendors. 4. Sip Hot Chocolate (or other beverages and treats) at Main Street Coffee

Hot chocolate is a staple drink during this season, so why not enjoy some at a local cafe? If you’d prefer a little caffeine, you could always enjoy a mocha, pairing two favorites (coffee and chocolate). They also have teas, sodas, water, other coffee drinks, treats, and sandwiches. 5. Visit the 18th Annual Downtown Holiday Market

Want to enjoy “Washington D.C.’s outdoor shopping village?” They will have 70 exhibitors this year. There will also be food vendors available, so you can eat and shop while enjoying D.C. 6. Experience Christmas at Gaylord National

You can “explore acres of lights and hours of entertainment and activities” at this special holiday event that is available until December 31. You can make gingerbread cookies, ice skate, and enjoy other “magical experiences.” They will also have “a wonderland carved by expert artisans out of two million pounds of colorful ice.” The theme this year is A Christmas Story. In addition, you can purchase tickets for snow tubing offered at Gaylord National.
